The Tacoma Film Festival staff would like to say –  THANK YOU – to everyone who attended the 2010 Tacoma Film Festival or supported the event in some way.  We had record attendance at the films, fantastic sponsors and of course wonderful volunteers that all together made it happen.

 It is so hard to believe another Tacoma Film Festival has come and gone.  It is already time to start planning for the 2011 Tacoma Film Festival.  With that being said, we welcome any and all feedback from this year’s event.  Please comment here or send us an email:  tacomafilmfestival@gmail.com.  We learn something new every year and hope to capitalize on each failure and success.  The festival continues to grow because of loyal patrons like yourselves and the amazing filmmakers who produce great films.

2010 Tacoma Film Festival — it’s decision time!

TFF Save the Date 2010 

After 7 months of receiving film submissions from all across the world, and of all genres and lengths, the time has come for the Festival staff to make final judging decisions! We had a record number of entries this year, and we are very excited to see this growth and maturity for our relatively young festival. We intend to notify all filmmakers about the status of their submission on or before August 2nd. This truly is the first large step towards building and supporting the Tacoma Film Festival – and our staff is ready to take it on!!

Tacoma Film Festival submission pool is our largest ever!

It’s hard to believe, but the final submission deadline for the 2010 Tacoma Film Festival has now come and gone. After 6  months of receiving submissions, we have now over 310 movies to consider! While this means that the quality of our 2010 program will inevitably be greater than past years, it also means we have more films to watch. We must admit, however, that it’s not the worst  job in the world to have to watch dozens of movies one after another – it could be worse!

Between now and August 2nd, we must make final decisions on what films will be included in this, the 5th year of the Tacoma Film Festival. We are also working to add more venues, exciting events, and film programs. We are confident that it will be our best year yet! Additionally, the artwork and poster design for this year’s fest is still to be decided. This week, we’ll hang up all submitted designs in the Grand Cinema lobby, and provide feedback forms for patrons, volunteers and staff, to help us choose this year’s artwork. Stop by for a movie, and take a look at all of the unique and creative designs!

Halfway through TFF submissions deadline

We have now passed the second deadline for Tacoma Film Festival submissions… and with two more months to go, we already have 220 submissions! The sheer number of films that are sent to us each year increases immensely from year to year, which means we have that much more to keep track of. With quantity, has come quality, and we are confident that it will be our best year yet!
